All plants are measured from the bottom of the nursery pot to the tip of the plant and if a height is specified, this is an approximate height, not set in stone. Philodendron Billietiae is a relatively new house plant in so much as it was only discovered in 1995 in Brazil. It has elongated heart-shaped leaves with distinctive wavy edges. Thriving in a wide range of light conditions, it's a great companion addition to any plant collection. The leaves can grow up to 90cm long so it can be quite impressive as it matures (this will take time).
Originating from the lush rainforests of Central America, the Philodendron Billietiae has adapted beautifully to indoor environments - another reason why it's been popular. Its glossy, deep green leaves feature unique pinstripe-like variegation too, and it's very eye catching and attractive.
By giving this house plant bright indirect light (no direct sun) it will look its best. Allow the soil to dry out between waterings to avoid root rot and just make sure you give it plenty of feed during the growing season - the leaves can become large and this takes lots of nutrition!
