All plants are measured from the bottom of the nursery pot to the tip of the plant and if a height is specified, this is an approximate height, not set in stone. As all plants are living things, they will vary in size throughout the year, and we do our best to give a guide as to the size you can expect. If in doubt drop us an email hello@leafculture.co.uk. And lastly, minor flaws in leaves might be present and will not be covered for compensation. It's worth noting that plants naturally age like people and are rarely perfect.
Philodendron Melanochrysum are a particularly beautiful plant with leaves that stretch out with time and can reach up to 100cm in length! It's well worth browsing on Insta to see some particularly impressive specimens if you're looking for ideas. So we're very pleased to be stocking this houseplant.
In the UK, they can grow large but it takes much longer so you need patience with this plant. Philodendron Melamochrysum is not tricky in any way, happy with lower light levels and not too much water - it's also happy in bright indirect light. The leaves are velvet to touch but are rarely perfect so expect blemishes and markings - remember the time it takes to grow these leaves and we'd rather have more leaves on the plant so it can grow faster - you can always remove them at a later date.
As Philodendron Melamochrysum matures, it will need further support so consider a moss pole. For the moment, they come with smaller supports which are absolutely fine, but will need changing in the future. And finally, every Philodendron Melanochrysum is absolutely unique and not all plants will have the same leaf length as the images show.
